Metriaclima sp."msobo" is living in rocky environments in the intermediate zones from rocks to sand and can be found near Magunga Reef, Manda, Pombo Rocks and Lundu. This variant is from Magunga Reef. In the beginning of the year 2008 I bought ten of these fish. The males started colouring since may 2008. I wasn't quit sure about them at that time, I thought there were four males in this group which appeaered to be right. Meanwhile they are grown a lot taller, in this moment (march 2009) the males are about 10 cm and the females about 8 to 10 cm. As soon as it was clear how many males were in this group I`ve splitted this group, one group stayed in the tank in my livingroom (one male and three females). I`ve sold the other males and bought a new male to start a nice breeding group with the other three females. Mutual they are a little intolerant - up till now - against the other inhabitants they are more tolerant. They are comfortable with any food. They take everything they get offered, like spirulina pellets, mysis, artemia, cyclops and shrimp-peas mix. Food rich of algae like spirulina pellets or flakes is very important to them so this should not be missing on their menu. |
